Can I be a Reiki Healer?

Attunements are the very core of the Usui method of natural healing. Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy, something which we all have as our birthright. Anyone can lay hands on another person and transmit magnetic life force energy. What makes Usui's system unique is the attunement process, which may be described as a series of initiations wherein a Reiki Master, using a very ancient Tibetan system, transmits energy to the student in an amplified state. The energy acts is such a way that it creates an open channel for cosmic energy to flow in from the top of the student's head, through the upper energy centres and out through the hands, for use in future treatments. In addition, the vibratory rate of the body is amplified, triggering a 21 day cleansing period, which occurs as a result of negative patterns and blocks being sloughed off due to the quickening of a person's energy pattern.

Reiki I

First Degree attunements are focused mainly on opening up the physical body so that it can that accept (channel) greater quantities of life force energy. The four attunements of First Degree raise the vibratory rate of the four energy centres of the upper part of the body, which are also known as Chakras. The first initiation chakra on the etheric level. The second attunement affects the thyroid gland, and on an etheric level, helps to open up the throat chakra, which is our communication centre. The third initiation affects both the third eye, which corresponds to the pituitary gland ( our centre of higher consciousness and intuition), and the hypothalamus, which affects the body's mood and temperature. The fourth initiation further opens the crown chakra, our connecting link with spiritual consciousness, and it's corresponding physical partner, the pineal gland. This final attunement completes the process by sealing the channel the Reiki energy for the rest of your life. Thus it is essential to complete all four attunements to keep the Reiki channel open throughout your entire lifetime. Once you are attuned to the Reiki energy, you can never lose it. Even if you don't use it for a period of years, the moment you decide to use it, it will be there for you.

Reiki II

The Second Degree attunement process provides a "quantum leap" in vibratory level, at least four times greater than First Degree. The three symbols which are taught in Second Degree, to be used for sending absentee healings, also become activated at this point. Second Degree has great emphasis on adjusting the etheric body, rather than the physical body, which is the primary focus of First Degree In addition, the third eye or sixth chakra is greatly affected, which often heightens the intuitive abilities of the student. Soon after the Second Degree attunements, and especially during the 21 day cleanse process, people often feel a considerable amount of energy in their root chakras, because their survival and sexual centres become very stimulated, which amplifies what Hindus call Kundalini energy.

As Reiki II is Practioner level, once you have acquired professional insurance you can offer Reiki to the general public.

Reiki Master and Teacher

The Third Degree attunement is used to initiate a Master. This attunement again amplifies the vibratory level and activates the Master symbol so it may be used to help others empower themselves. This is an important point, because it is essential for people to realize that it is their choice to receive an attunement. A Reiki master is simply someone who has chosen to accept greater responsibility for their life by acknowledging that he or she is indeed the Master of his or her destiny. By accepting this responsibility, the Reiki master is empowered to use specific an ancient Tibetan system to help others further empower themselves. The attunement process of Reiki is really exceptional in that it enables you to get a sense of your true essence. Reiki provides the boost to help experience that sense of awareness, and with a daily practice of self-treatments, that awareness can continue to grow.

On completion you can then teach others the Usui Reiki method of healing.
